Wayne Cockrum from Environmental Consulting and Technology will discuss a new Enterprise/Database system designed for the oil and gas industry. Wayne will also do a panel discussion of environmental experts to discuss any environmental compliance issues, including the latest information on cap and trade.  

Jim Neal will present a legal update on issues affecting the oil and gas industry. Jim is a shareholder with Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, Davis & Gotting, P.C. and the head of the firm’s oil, gas and natural resources department. This presentation should last approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Congratulations to Jacob Borysiak a 2009 graduate from Traverse City Central High School, on receiving a $500 scholarship from COPAS of Michigan.  Jacob has been accepted into Grand Valley State University’s Honor Program, majoring in mathematics.  Good luck Jacob! 

One to two $500 scholarships are awarded each year by COPAS of Michigan (if applicants don’t meet requirements no scholarships will be awarded).  Applicants must meet the following requirements: 

1)       Enroll in Accounting or Petroleum Technology Field

2)       Attend a Michigan College or University

3)       Maintain a 3.0 or higher G.P.A.

Currently COPAS has 23 participating societies (United States and Canada) and over 3,000 members. 

The COPAS Fall National Meeting was held in Branson, MO on October 19-23, 2009.
