Dear COPAS
Members:
I hope
everyone is enjoying another wonderful
summer in Michigan. It is hard to believe
that fall will be fast approaching.
September is around the corner and an
exciting year is planned for our COPAS
group.
August 7, 2008
we have a fabulous field trip planned.
Karen Thomas has worked very hard to put
together a trip to Merit Energy Company’s
Gas Plant in Kalkaska.
We will be meeting at 10:00 am to discuss
gas plant operations, what they do, how the
plant works, new technologies and plant
construction; then take a walking tour
through the plant to look at the physical
equipment. We will conclude the field trip
with an on-site barbeque.
This should be a fantastic field trip
and should be educational for all. In
order to get an accurate head count, please
RSVP to Nancy Devantier at
ndevantier@auroraogc.com by August 1,
2008. Guests are welcome to join us for
the field trip. We will send out directions
to all those who RSVP to the meeting.
September 18,
2008 we will be meeting in Traverse City at
the Grand Traverse Resort. At the time of
this letter, we are working out the program
to be presented. More details to follow.
In October, we
will present an educational seminar in
Traverse City. We are still in the planning
stages for this event and are very excited
about the seminar options available from PDI.
More details will follow shortly.
The COPAS Fall
National Meeting is in Las Vegas, Nevada on
October 21-24. This is a chance to see what
is going on in our field on a national
level. I will be attending and any board
member is encouraged to attend.
On November
13, 2008 and March 19, 2009, we will be
meeting in Gaylord at a location to be
determined. We will update you as more
information becomes available.
Our final
meeting of the 2008-09 year will be on April
16 in Traverse City at the Grand Traverse
Resort.
As a group, we
continue to work on planning our meetings to
make them informative, educational, and
worth attending. Please let the officers
know if you have any suggestions. This
group provides a great opportunity to
explore relevant oil and gas topics and
offers great networking resources. If you
have an idea, please do not hesitate to
share it with the membership.
Attached
please find the forms for the 2008/2009
membership dues. The membership fee remains
at $125.00. Please submit your invoice and
payment by September 2, 2008. If you know
of any potential members, please pass on
this information.
We look
forward to seeing everyone at our summer
field trip on August 7.
